We keep mentioning confidentiality over and over again … but what do we mean?
We Can’t Share Your Health Information
As healthcare providers, we’re required by law to keep all personal health information private unless we receive written consent. That means you can visit to talk about health issues, get STD or pregnancy testing, pick up condoms or birth control, or do something else entirely—and we won’t be able to tell anyone you were there unless you give us permission to do so.
Don’t ever worry that we’ll tell your parents, your neighbors or your friends that you came to the Teen Health Center. We promise to always respect your right to privacy.
No Permission Needed / Free Services
We understand that it’s not always easy for you to talk openly with your parents about health and body issues. Some teens can’t talk to their parents because of problems at home, like physical violence, sexual abuse or emotional abuse.
Whatever the reason, we want you to be healthy. That’s why we don’t require parental permission for you to visit the Teen Health Center. And that’s also why all services provided at the Teen Health Center are completely free!
What Services Are Confidential?
You may seek treatment without the permission of your parents for certain conditions, such as treatment for pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, mental health concerns, and substance abuse.
